The Siya crew can reveal that Ajax Cape Town have agreed terms with Finnish shot-stopper, Anssi Jaakkola.
The Siya crew reported in edition 835 that the former Kilmarnock goalkeeper was set to undergo a trial with the Urban Warriors. The 26-year-old has since impressed head coach Muhsin Ertugral and his technical team.
The two parties have entered into negotiations and it is understood that an agreement on personal terms between the two parties has been reached. However, the deal is yet to be concluded with the player needing to discuss the move with his family back in Europe.
The Siya crew has been informed that the player has returned to Scotland, where he resides, to discuss the proposed move to South Africa with his wife, with whom he has a two-month old baby with.
Jaakkola, who spent two seasons with Scottish Premier League side Kilmarnock, saw his contract expire at the end of the 2012/13 SPL campaign, which means that Ajax will be able to land the player on a free transfer.
The player is expected to make his decision before the end of the week.
