Ajax Cape Town are looking to keep hold of their star midfielder, Khama Billiat, despite reports that Mamelodi Sundowns want to lure him away from Ikamva.
The Zimbabwean has been one of Ajax’s top performers in the PSL this season and his form has understandably attracted interest from some of South Africa’s biggest teams.
It was recently reported by the Siya crew that the Urban Warriors may be persuaded to accept a swap deal involving a player and cash in order to let go of the 22-year-old, although it seems that this is no longer the case.
Ajax’s CEO, George Comitis, confirmed that the club are currently looking to extend Billiat’s contract, which ends in 2016, and explained that they will only agree to sell him overseas, should the right offer come around, and not to another Absa Premiership side.
Despite the news, it remains to be seen whether the likes of Sundowns will look continue their interest in the player, although Comitis seems adamant that Billiat will not be playing against his side next season.
