African Warriors attacking midfielder, Vincent Pule, who netted four goals in his last two matches, is on the brink of signing for Ajax Cape Town after a successful trial.
But although an Ajax source confirmed to Soccer-Laduma that the 21-year-old player was soon going to be snapped up, Warriors’ boss, Dr. Balekile Mzangwa, is unhappy with the offer made.
“I don’t want to be funny but it’s not a lucrative offer,” he said. “Pule is not an asset like a cow or horse but a very skilful left-footed player who’s very scarce to find. You cannot unearth a player of that nature then let him go cheaply, " he said.
“He’s worth a lot of money to us, is such a willing, committed youngster with a lot to offer. His two goals against Black Leopards and United FC were very special. Ajax takes us like we’re not ambitious, yet I’m also thinking beyond the NFD as we want to get to the PSL.”
Ajax also appear to have “forced” certain issues upon the player, who holds a long-term contract with Warriors until 2015.
“I actually had to intervene before Pule signed a so-called contract with certain terms. He’s a young boy, you cannot just say to him, ‘You have to agree terms’. He must be advised, and is still happy with us so why are Ajax forcing him to leave?” Mzangwa concludes.
