Ajax Cape Town’s squad has once again been crippled by the absence of key players like captain, Dominic Isaacs and Abbubaker Mobara.
The Urban Warriors are getting ready to do battle against Moroka Swallows at Dobsonville Stadium tomorrow night, however, coach Roger De Sa, has confirmed to the club's website that he's forced to ring a couple of changes.
“Once again we have been hit by injuries to key players that have depleted the squad a bit. This squad has been depleted by injuries throughout the season; we have not been able to play the same eleven players in consecutive games all season. We have a few niggling injuries that forced us to make a few changes to our starting line-up. Injured players in our squad are Dominic Isaacs, Abbubaker Mobara, Koen van de Laak, and Tasreeq Morris is suspended after receiving four yellow cards.
“Isaacs and Mobara picked up knocks in our last game against Mpumalanga Black Aces, and Mobara just came back after recovering from an ankle injury and then got another knock on the same ankle. We need to monitor him to ensure that he recovers in time for our next game. Dominic has a minor injury and is also expected to be ready for our next game, however Koen is receiving treatment and I’ll meet our medical team to discuss his progress,” said the former Orlando Pirates mentor.
Morris will definitely be back for the next game, adding to the pool of players that will be available for selection against Golden Arrows next Wednesday.
“Sometimes it’s not a bad thing as it gives me the opportunity to see other players and combinations in a game situation,” added De Sa.
