News making its way to the Siya crew is that Ajax Cape Town are still talking to midfielder, Granwald Scott.
Although the Siya crew previously reported that the player’s agent, Mike Makaab, denied the talks, club PRO, Thabiso ‘Shooz’ Mekuto insists that the player is likely to stay.
It is evident that coach, Roger De Sa, is a fan of the Kensington-born player, and that adds to speculation that the midfielder could stay beyond this current season.
“Scott is still in negotiations with the club. We all know he’s a great player and valued at the club. We definitely want him to stay but that all depends on how negotiations go. He’s slowly making progress following his injury and the fact that the coach likes him, is separate from likelihood to stay,” said Mekuto.
Meanwhile, the crew is informed that the Ikamva-based club has trialist in Phathiso Colo. The crew previously linked the player with a possible move to Platinum Stars after Mamelodi Sundowns were hesitant to respond when he was suggested to them.
Colo is said to be the attacking midfielder of note, and has played club football in Scandinavian countries like Belgium.
“Yes he was here. He trained with the club for a week and I believe the coach will know better about his impression. He just wanted to see him and perhaps have an idea for the next season. It’s not about wanting to re-inforce or to make an addition,” added Mekuto.
