Following the news that MTN will not be renewing their contract with Ajax Cape Town at the end of the season, the club is speaking to a number of companies.
The crew is informed that the club had tried to lure giant retail, Shoprite, however, the crew can confirm that the deal didn’t materialise.
As previously reported by the crew, the Urban Warriors denied that they were turned down by Shoprite, yet the club is still hoping to engage as many sponsors as possible to close the financial gaps, following the departure of the mobile network company.
Speaking to the crew, the Ikamva-based club’s executive, Ari Efstathiou, said they’re talking to a number of companies.
“We’re working with a couple of companies that we want to bring on board. The negotiations are still ongoing and we can’t reveal names at this stage. We’ll definitely make an announcement when we have reached an agreement or have found a suitable sponsor,” said the director.
The Siya crew will keep tabs when new developments unfold.
