With just 11 league goals in 59 appearances coming from Ajax Cape Town's striking department this season, the Urban Warriors are on the look-out for some fresh striking options as the club plans ahead for the next campaign.
At the moment striker, Nathan Paulse, is the team's leading marksman with just four strikes to his name along with Eleazar Rogers. Fellow senior striker, Rodgers, has also perhaps failed to live up to expectations following his loan move from Mamelodi Sundowns.
Nonetheless, it appears the club are doing everything that's reasonably in their power to find someone who can score more goals consistently in the 2014/15 season.
This was explained to the Siya crew by Ajax Cape Town coach, Roger de Sa. He said,
"Like me, there's probably another 10 PSL coaches with the same problem. We're all on a hunt for a striker who scores goals. Here we're looking every day. There must be 10 CDs on my desk from Africa and everywhere with strikers wanting a chance. We keep on looking at Youtube clips as well they send us. We're looking but where we're going to find them I don't know. We just have to keep on looking for that magical striker who can score 20 goals. When the season ends we're going to try and find someone, you know."
