Following striker, Nathan Paulse, pledging his allegiance to Ajax Cape Town for next year, the Urban Warriors family as a whole feel very much excited with Paulse's decision to stay at the club.
Last week the lanky forward confirmed that he had indeed extended his deal with Ajax, and hoped to have a bigger impact on the team going forward.
Speaking to the crew, the club's Public Relations Officer, Thabiso Mekuto, said that the club was never in doubt of him wanting to stay because of the strong ties he forged over the years with the Cape Town-based outfit.
“We were positive that Nathan will renew his deal. That is because of his heart being here and this is where he wants to be, we are very comfortable. He adds a different dimension in terms of the type of strikers Ajax had, " Mekuto said.
According to ‘Shooz’, coach Roger De Sa wants Paulse to be at Ajax much longer.
“Roger mentioned that we should have Nathan for a longer period, because he gives us options in terms of the type of strikers we have in the team, so that makes us happy,” he said.
Paulse’s leadership qualities also received a mention as his experiences filters through the squad down to the youth set-up.
“From the leadership point of view, he is such a professional athlete, he remains the most hard-working player. For the youngsters we have in the team, there is a lot he can give back and it will be fitting if he ends his career with Ajax, his home."
Mekuto also said that Paulse's work-rate on the field cannot be questioned and that no matter the circumstance, he always gives his all.
“His contribution on the field cannot be doubted, he always puts in 110% effort and that’s what we love about him. On a good or bad day, he always gives 110%, so we’re very excited,” he further added.
