Ajax Cape Town are expected to finalise a deal for former Mamelodi Sundowns winger,Lebohang ‘Cheeseboy’ Mokoena, before their next Absa Premiership encounter against Orlando Pirates.
Mokoena parted ways with the Chloorkop-based club when his contract came to an end on 30 June and on 12 August Soccer Laduma broke the news of Mokoena turning out for the Urban Warriors when he met up with the team on their preseason camp in George.
However, the player then returned to Johannesburg, in order to deal with family matters, a source close to the Ajax camp confirmed.
Head coach Roger De Sa then revealed in a press-conference that Cheeseboy was still an option for the club, and a decision about whether the player will be offered a PSL contract with the club was to be made.
Now, the Siya crew can confirm that Ajax are expected to finalise a deal for Mokoena before the club’s next Absa Premiership fixture against Pirates, on 13 September at the Cape Town Stadium.
Cheeseboy is a free agent and would not be bound by the transfer window that closes tomorrow at midnight.
