Ajax Cape Town Are Heading Back To The Mother City

By Soccer Laduma - May 15, 2018 01:41 PM

Ajax Cape Town are heading back to the Mother City, while Platinum Stars are heading off to Limpopo.

The football fraternity was dealt a shock today after the South African Football Association confirmed that the Urban Warriors have been docked seven points, while Stars received a lifeline of three points which took them to 15th place on the league standings.

Ajax’s seven-point deduction from their 31, sees the team on 24 points, three points less that Stars who are now on 27 points and through to the promotion/ relegation play-offs.

The Urban Warriors were already in Limpopo at the time of the ruling, preparing to face off with Black Leopards in the play-offs.

The ruling then meant that Ajax are set to head back to Cape Town, while Dikwena take their spot in the play-offs, as they look to maintain their top-flight status.

According to sources in the know, Ajax have hit the road, returning to the Mother City while Stars have travelled to Limpopo, where they will gear up to face Black Leopards tomorrow, May 16.

FIFA’s rulebook states as follows: “Players may be registered with a maximum of three clubs during one season. During this period, the player is only eligible to play official matches for two clubs. As an exception to this rule, a player moving between two clubs belonging to associations with overlapping seasons (i.e. start of the season in summer/autumn as opposed to winter/spring) may be eligible to play in official matches for a third club during the relevant season, provided he has fully complied with his contractual obligations towards his previous clubs.” So Ajax knew this, saga knew this and Psl knew this. 1) Ajax took chances and they got caught as a result they are relegated. And by doing so dragged down South Africa football and the league.this is corruption and it does our football no good. Ajax is offside here 2) psl which is led by chairman of Orlando pirates who were the first to see something was wrong here and played under protest. Which is good fair play demands we follow the rules. But what is sickening about pirates and their manager here is that as soon as they see that they will not benefit from their protest they back of, of which means they too cares about fair play when the rules benefit them, and by withdrawing their case against Ajax they are taking part of Ajax corruption. And at the end South Africa football is taken to the dogs. 3)Psl is run by greedy puppets who are not well versed in Fifas regulations, all they care about is how much they get to enrich themselves. Should Psl knew the regulations at first place they should have known how to handle the issue on the first protest. 4) lastly may this be a lesson to all of us that rules and guidelines are there for us to follow and at the end no one is above the law. Goodbye Ajax of Cape Town.

PSL z full of stupid staff. A common sense z needed here. After registering a player, restrictions should be made clear to the team.

So, Platinum Stars are dragged into this mess without any preparation of their own..? How will they play? I think if they lose the game, they have a strong case to appeal.
