Ajax Cape Town new recruit, Thamsanqa Sangweni, reveals that it feels good to be back on the field and doing what he does best.
Speaking to the Siya crew, the Empangeni-born player said he hasn’t played for a long time and plans to use the opportunity to his advantage.
“Ajax is a great team with talented players, I know some of the guys and it’s great to be here and playing again. I’m getting to know them and the way they play will make it easier for me. So far so good, everything is going well. As I said I know some of the guys, and that will help me to settle down and know their style. Taylor helped me a lot to settle and get back to my basics as a football. He’s a coach who gave me freedom to express myself and that helped me as a player.
“The club has youngsters who are great in football and getting a warm welcome from them is humbling. Roger is also a great man to work with, he’s hands on and we’ve tried new things with him since he took over. I think we’ll improve as a club. The players seem to respond easily to his tactics and approach. I can’t say I want to stay at the moment because that all depends on Sundowns and Ajax, but I’d be happy you know. We have a good team and I feel we’re capable of finishing in the top eight bracket. We just have to work hard and the results will come," added Sangweni.
