Ajax Cape Town have at last received a boost to their squad with the return of a number of players from injury ahead of their Telkom Knockout clash with SuperSport United.
Ajax have been hammered by injury after injury in the last month, with up to ten players on the sidelines, but there appears to be light at the end of the tunnel for the Urban Warriors.
Thulani Hlatshwayo and Franklin Cale have both returned from their respective injuries, which kept them in the stands for several weeks, while goalkeeper Brandon Petersen made a swift return after sustaining an injury during Ajax’s 2-0 defeat to Polokwane City.
Another boost for the Urban Warriors is the return of midfielder Toriq Losper, who sustained a knee injury last month. It now seems as if the highly rated midfielder is close to a full return to fitness.
Ajax have now completed their preparations for the highly anticipated clash with SuperSport United at the Lucas Moripe Stadium on Saturday at 15h00.
Head coach Muhsin Ertugral has been fairly successful in cup competitions in recent years. This will turn this clash into a tightly contested match as league form is left behind.
