Agent Unhappy With City

Ratshibvumo Mulovhedzi, the agent of Polokwane City player, Sifiso Mbhele, has lashed out at City over their treatment of his client, following Mbhele’s injury against Free State Stars last Saturday at Goble Park.

Mbhele sustained a knee injury during their league encounter and was taken to hospital, where according to Mulovhedzi, the player was given pain killers instead of proper treatment.

“They took the player to the hospital, I was there when we transported him on an ambulance. He was admitted and they wanted to leave him at the hospital because they were tired but the doctor refused as that could lead to the hospital being sued. The doctor who was attending to him then told the Polokwane City officials that one of them needed to sign a statement that said that they had taken the player against his orders. They then took the player as he was on a wheelchair and transported him into the bus to Limpopo.

“I begged them to leave the boy at hospital, I was prepared to pay medical costs and transport him on myself back to Limpopo, the coach was there but they refused. His painful leg was covered with a plaster to ensure it remains straight yet they insisted on transporting him by bus. I asked them what was happening, and they told me they will take the player to a hospital in Limpopo. I’m disappointed by the fact that the player sat in the bus for eight hours while he was in pain,” revealed Mulovhedzi.

The Siya crew contacted City’s Media and Liaison officer, Patrick Baloyi, who denied the matter and said the boy was given proper medical attention at the hospital.

“I’d like to talk to him first then I will come back to you because I don’t know where he gets all of this information. Sifiso was treated at the hospital and he is okay and doing fine, he is gone to the doctor as we speak,” said Baloyi.

The crew made efforts to reach the player but his mobile rang unanswered. However, the crew will keep you updated about developments regarding this story.
