Race Hots Up In Dolly Latest?

There’s been widespread curiosity regarding the future of Keagan Dolly, who left French club Montpellier last month and has become a free agent!

Indications are that the attacker has attracted interest in North Africa, Europe and Asia, though the precise details are still delicate, Dolly would have to seriously consider his options having spent four years in Europe.

As previously reported by Soccer Laduma, one of the teams keen on signing Dolly was Al Ahly, a side coached by Pitso Mosimane and fresh from retaining their CAF Champions League title on Saturday after thrashing Kaizer Chiefs 3-0 in Morocco.

Mosimane coached Dolly at Mamelodi Sundowns for three years.

The player’s long-time agent, Paul Mitchell of Siyavuma Sports Group, confirmed to the Siya crew that there’s no deal agreed just yet.

“We are currently considering Keagan’s next move carefully and have some offers to consider,” he explained, without giving too much away.

“Any decision will be based around trying to tick as many boxes as we can in several important areas, especially now given the current situation globally with Covid-19 and the challenges that has brought in many countries. Keagan is a quality player, now in his prime years and will be a great signing for any club.”

It is understood ticking the “many boxes” includes Dolly’s financial aspirations which would have been lucrative given he was playing for a club in the French Ligue 1 and the fact he has recently become a father.

The 28-year-old was reportedly still keen on exploring options abroad, hence flirting with the idea of moving to North Africa, although the Siya crew understands that the Bafana Bafana star does also remain open to returning to the Premier Soccer League.

But any offer has to be attractive from a personal point of view and financially beneficial for Dolly, given his free status.

Rumours have been circulating that he has signed for Chiefs, but the Siya crew can confirm that the attacker remains a free agent and is currently weighing up his options.
