Siphiwe Tshabalala earned a Man of the Match accolade for his performance in AmaZulu's final game of the season and his agent has since commented on the veteran's future.
In the KwaZulu-Natal derby against Maritzburg United last Saturday, the former Kaizer Chiefs star produced a scintillating performance, as Usuthu finished their impressive DStv Premiership campaign with a draw and in second place on the log.
However, the 2020/21 season hasn’t been the best for the experienced player due to lack of regular game-time as his start against the Team of Choice was his first of the campaign.
While the Durban-based club is yet to officially communicate their plans for the dreadlocked star going forward, following speculation that he might retire at the end of the season due to limited action under coach Benni McCarthy, the player’s agent Jazzman Mahlakane has confirmed to the Siya crew that the attacker has no plans to call it quits just yet.
In fact, Mahlakgane has confirmed that the Bafana Bafana legend will not be parting ways with the club.
“Shabba continues (at AmaZulu) and I’m sure you saw how he performed in the last match of the season. Form is temporary and class is permanent and that's what I said to his boss. Shabba is a disciplined individual and doesn’t go around doing unnecessary things. He is focused and the club will still get a lot out of him,” he said.
Shabba will turn 37 in September. He signed a two-year contract when he joined Usuthu in October last year.
