Former Baroka FC striker Prince Nxumalo has been tipped to hit the ground running in the GladAfrica Championship after penning a deal with Sekhukhune United.
Nxumalo has garnered a reputation for his goalscoring exploits, although he hasn’t been able to replicate that in recent times.
However, after penning a two-year deal, (one year plus an option), with Sekhukhune United, the 29-year-old forward has been has been tipped to succeed by his representative, Ratshibvumo Mulovhedzi of Rush Hour Sports.
“The boy is a good striker and has signed for Sekhukhune United. He will be banging in goals again this season. We would like to thank the management of Sekhukhune United. The Malatji family, brothers Simon who is the club’s chairman and Jonas, the CEO.
“There were other offers on the table, but we were convinced by Sekhukhune’s vision and they made us a very good offer,” Mulovhedzi told the Siya crew.
Meanwhile the agent has also provided clarity on Nxumalo’s exit from Baroka FC.
“The player scored a goal for Baroka in the Nedbank Cup and he celebrated with only Dylan Kerr and not Thoka Matsemela (assistant coach), and from there they called him into a club DRC. They gave him a letter that said he did not respect a technical team member, and that is why he was released,” Mulovhedzi explained.
Nxumalo is among a host of experienced former PSL players, including Tapuwa Kapini and Jabu Maluleka who recently signed for Sekhukhune United.
