Premier Soccer League action could look to make its return to the Cape Town Stadium this week after the Mother City-based clubs were forced to move their home fixtures out of the Western Cape.
The Cape Town Stadium was unavailable due to a rugby tournament, while the City of Cape Town confirmed that the Athlone Stadium was not in a playable condition due to the water restrictions in the Mother City.
Both Cape Town City and Ajax Cape Town played their home fixtures away from the Mother City in the past week, with City having hosted Maritzburg United at the Princess Magogo Stadium and the Urban Warriors using the Bidvest Stadium as their home-ground for their clash against Chippa United.
However, it seems that the Cape Town Stadium will now be available to utilise in City’s next Absa Premiership clash against AmaZulu FC on Friday, however, an official announcement is yet to be made by the club.
Friday’s clash will be the last home fixture for 2017, with Ajax’s remaining fixture being played away.
