Mpumalanga Black Aces coach, Clive Barker, is set to test his new-look squad with a game against visiting Australian side, Perth Glory, today (Thursday).
The Australian side is in South Africa as part of their preparations for the year. Glory are also scheduled to play against University of Pretoria on the weekend.
Aces aim to intensify their preparations for the team’s first season back in the PSL, following a ruling in the Thanda Royal Zulu matter.
Aces, who won promotion to the PSL through the playoffs a month ago, have been busy with their plans despite the legal matter involving Thanda that has been dragging for some time.
The PSL confirmed on Wednesday that the arbitrator ruled that Thanda’s application has been dismissed.
In a statement by the league, the PSL’s CEO Brand de Villiers welcomed the conclusion of the arbitration and said, “We are relieved that this matter has been resolved and we can now focus on the start of the new season. Our priority right now is to plan for next week’s Absa Premiership fixtures and the MTN8 competition.”
The PSL is expected to release a list of updated 2013/14 PSL fixtures, which will include Aces and Polokwane City.
