Word reaching the Siya crew is that the proposed deal between Wits defender Thomas Sweswe and Mpumalanga Black Aces has fallen through.
According to sources, Aces were keen to sign the 32-year-old former Kaizer Chiefs defender, but changed their minds about signing him.
It is not clear at this stage as to why the deal between Aces and Sweswe fell through, but the Zimbabwean defender is definitely staying with the Students this season.
Aces Media Liaison Officer, Gordon Masondo, confirmed to the Siya crew that AmaZayoni won’t be signing Sweswe.
“He definitely won’t be joining us this transfer period,” Masondo told the crew without going much into details about the deal that fell through.
Meanwhile, Masondo confirmed to the crew that defender Derrick Spencer is still training with the team.
“He hasn’t signed yet, but I think a decision on him would be made soon,” concluded Masondo.
