Former Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns defender, Derrick Spencer, is still training with Mpumalanga Black Aces as coach Clive Barker and his technical team continue to assess him.
Spencer has been training with AmaZayoni since the end of last year and it was thought that the defender would sign with Aces before the Christmas break after Barker told the crew that they are ready to open talks with Spencer, but those talks failed to materialise.
Aces Media Liaison Officer, Gordon Masondo, confirmed to the Siya crew that the technical team is yet to make a decision on Spencer.
"Derrick is still training with us. We're still sorting out some stuff and we'll let you know soon if we're going to sign him or not," said Masondo.
With Aces having parted ways with former Sundowns defender, Eduardo Ferreira in recent weeks, it looks more likely that Spencer will sign a contract with AmaZayoni.
