SuperSport had a bit of scare after 12 minutes when Jeremy Brockie was hurt, but the New Zealand forward managed to return to the field.

Stars created the first real opening a couple minutes later, but SuperSport goalkeepeer Ronwen Willaims produced a fine save to deny Moeketsi Sekola from close range.

SuperSport saw more of the ball as the half went on, but they were let down by some poor finishing by Kingston Nkhatha.

Despite SuperSport's dominance, the score remained goalless at the halftime break.

Stuart Baxter opted for a change 10 minutes into the second half, as Thabo Mnyamane came to replace Nkhatha.

The hosts continued to push for an opening goal and they were presented with a chance after 68 minutes when Brockie picked out Mario Booysen, who could only head straight at Thela Ngobeni.

SuperSport created the best chance of the game 10 minutes later when Thuso Phala's cross found Booysen, who rattled the crossbar with thumping header

However, neither side could break the deadlock in the closing stages of the second half and were forced to share the spoils.
