A brace from Bradley Grobler inspired SuperSport United to an impressive 3-0 win over Chippa United at the Lucas Moripe Stadium on Friday night.
Matsatsantsa made four changes as Teboho Mokoena returned from suspension alongside Thamsanqa Gabuza and Ghampani Lungu while Ugandan midfielder Moses Waiswa made his debut in the absence of Dean Furman.
SuperSport carved out the first chance of the match in the ninth minute after Luke Fleurs headed a free-kick to the far post back, but Gabuza's outstretched shot was saved by Chippa goalkeeper Veli Mothwa.
The Chilli Boys also came close to breaking the deadlock after 26 minutes from a set-piece as Sandile Mthethwa's header missed slightly wide from a corner-kick.
Kaitano Tembo's charges finally found the breakthrough with five minutes remaining of the first stanza after they were awarded a penalty for a handball inside the area, which allowed Bradley Grobler slot home from 12-yards out.
SuperSport were forceful in attack coming from the break and they nearly doubled their lead on the hour-mark after Lungu picked out Gabuza in the box but his free header was saved by Mothwa.
However, Grobler eventually made doubled SuperSport's lead with a powerful low strike from the edge of the box that caught Mothwa flat-footed at the near post.
SuperSport got the third goal with 16 minutes remaining after Fleurs beat the offside trap to nod home Mokoena's cross alone at the far post.
Chidi Kwem had a chance to net a consolation goal in the last five minutes after going clear in the box but he guided a low shot wide after being left one-on-one with SuperSport goalkeeper Ronwen Williams.
Norman Mapeza's men were offered a chance to get the consolation after they were awarded a penalty in stoppage time for a handball inside the box but Boikanyo Komane could not capitalise, as his spot-kick was saved by Williams as the hosts held on for a 3-0 victory.
