Despite playing away from home Celtic were the better team in the opening stages, but their passing in the final third was poor and chances on goal were at a minimum.

Nonetheless, Celtic persisted and opened the scoring in the 18th minute, when Jacky Motshegwa dribbled his way into the box and slotted past the keeper, 1-0.

SuperSport struggled to find their footing in the game, but they did manage to score an equaliser in the 31st minute, very much against the run of play, when Mogakolodi Ngele pounced on a loose ball inside the box and fired into the back of the net, 1-1.

The goal gave the home side confidence and they took the lead eight minutes later, after a mistake in defence by Celtic allowed Evans Rusike, to intercept a back pass and he made no mistake with just the keeper to beat, 2-1.

Although Celtic had the lion’s share of possession throughout the first half they entered the tunnel trailing 2-1.

Celtic came out strong in the second half and managed to find an equaliser on the hour mark, when a mistake in defence by SuperSport this time, allowed Ndumiso Mabena to swoop on a loose ball and fire past the keeper, 2-2.

SuperSport quickly hit back and re-took the lead in the 74th minute, after Aubrey Modiba latched onto a through ball from Teboho Mokoena and made no mistake with just the keeper to beat, 3-2.

The icing on the cake for the home side was their fourth goal, seven minutes from time when Mokoena wrapped up a solid movement with another clinical finish from just inside the box, 4-2.
