SuperSport Denied Victory By Late Leopards Equaliser

Absa Premiership

Result: SuperSport United 2-2 Black Leopards

Date: 25 October 2019

Venue: Lucas Moripe Stadium

SuperSport United missed the chance to climb up to fourth place in the Absa Premiership following a 2-2 draw with Black Leopards on Friday night.

Matsatsantsa were unchanged from their penalty shoot-out win over Baroka in Telkom Knockout, while Lidoda Duvha coach Luc Eymael gave two new signings Edwin Gyimah and Thobani Mncwango their debuts.

Leopards were on the front foot in the early stages, putting United under pressure but Kaitano Tembo's army were firm at the back, patiently waiting for the right moments to go forward.

The hosts eventually gathered momentum and broke the deadlock with 11 minutes remaining of the first after Aubrey Modiba tapped home a cross from Onismor Bhasera against the run of play.

However, equalised three minutes before the halftime break thanks to Chris Katjiukua, who poked home a corner from Lesedi Kapinga.

Tembo's men were quick to go forward early in the second stanza and their pressure paid off in the 61st minute after Thamsanqa Gabuza converted subtitute Jamie Webber's cross from the right.

United did not sitting back on their lead as attacker Evans Rusike came on for Modiba wit 17 minutes remaining to utilise the Zimbwabwean's pace on counter-attacks.

However, Matsatsantsa conceded a penalty with three minutes remaining, which Pentjie Zulu converted to secure a point for the Limpopo outfit.
