Absa Premiership

Result: SuperSport United 1-1 Chippa United

Date: 10 April 2016

Venue: Peter Mokaba Stadium

SuperSport United and Chippa United shared the points on Sunday as they played out a 1-1 draw in the Absa Premiership.

After a slow opening Chippa put together a decent attack in the 13th minute which saw Andile Mbenyane threaten the United defence, but Booysen did some excellent work to deny him with a challenge.

A few minutes later the Chilli Boys opened the scoring. Thabang Thopola unloaded the ball onto Joseph Molangoane who sent a cross-shot at goal and found the back of the net.

Matsatsantsa responded with Jeremy Brockie unleashing a shot on target, but Masiko pulled off a terrific save to keep the visitors in front.

The game looked set to go into the break with Chippa leading, but on the stroke of half-time Kingston Nkhatha converted a penalty to level matters after a handball from James Okwuosa.

There were few chances after the interval as neither side created any real goalscoring opportunities.

SuperSport head coach, Stuart Baxter responded by introducing Fagrie Lakay and Morne Nel for the final 30 minutes of the game, while Chippa introduced David Zulu and Zaphaniah Mbokoma, as both sides searched for a winning goal.

Michael Morton and Walter Mponyane tried their luck with shots at goal in the latter stages of the game, but they both missed and the spoils were shared.
