Polokwane Extend Winless Run To Four Games
Absa Premiership Report: Polokwane City v AmaZulu 27 January 2018
Result: Polokwane City 0-0 AmaZulu
Date: 27 January 2018
Venue: Old Peter Mokaba Stadium
Polokwane City have extended their winless run in the Absa Premiership to four games, after drawing 0-0 with AmaZulu on Saturday afternoon.
Both sides went for the cautious approach in the opening stages under the scorching sun.
That proved to be the trend for the rest of the half, although Rise and Shine started seeing more of the ball after 25 minutes.
The hosts did managed to carve out a couple chances but, but the likes of Wiseman Maluleke and Rodney Ramagalela, failed to take advantage.
Usuthu, meanwhile, failed to trouble Polokwane shot-stopper George Chigova as the sides went into the break scoreless.
Cavin Johnson opted for a change at the start of the second half, as Rhulani Manzini replaced Camaldine Abraw.
However, much like the opening 45 minutes, the second stanza failed to provide any attacking football as both sides looked out of ideas in the final third.
Polokwane opted for a change with 25 minutes remaining, as Walter Musona made way for Puleng Tlolne.
Both sides pushed for a winning goal in the closing stages of the second half, but neither could carve out a clear-cut opening and they were forced to share the spoils.
Here's how they lined up:
Polokwane: 1. Chigova, 3. Tshehla, 19. Ravhuhali, 22. Mbonani, 4. Tshilo, 21. Seabi, 29. Musona, 17. Ramagalela, 8. J. Maluleke, 25. W. Maluleke, 16. Mngomezulu.
