Result: Polokwane City 1-0 Chippa United
Date: 16 April 2016
Venue: Old Peter Mokaba Stadium
Thobani Mncwango struck in the 90th minute to earn Polokwane City a 1-0 win over Chippa United at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium.
The opening 20 minutes proved to be a stale affair, as both sides were wasteful in possession, which resulted in neither team creating chances.
Rise and Shine nearly opened the scoring in the 23rd minute from a dead-ball situation, but Masiko produced a fine finger-tip save to keep out Mncwango's curling free-kick.
The visitors, meanwhile, struggled to create openings in the opposition box and were forced to take shots from distance, none of which troubled Polokwane goalkeeper George Chigova.
The tempo remained the same for the rest of the opening stanza, as the sides entered the break with the score locked at 0-0.
The second half continued in the same fashion as the first, as neither side looked threatening. Although, Dan Malesela brought on Mbokoma as Chippa looked for an opening goal after the hour-mark.
After a quiet spell, the first decent chance of the second half arrived after 75 minutes, as substitute Sipho Jembula unleashed a powerful effort that sailed just wide of the upright.
However, Julio Leal's charges managed find the winning goal in the 90th minute, courtesy a sublime long range effort from Thobani Mncwango.
