Robert Ng'ambi struck late in the second half to hand Platinum Stars a 1-0 win over relegation-threatened Highlands Park on Sunday afternoon.
After a bright start, Solomon Mathe went close to handing Dikwena the lead after 11 minutes but his strike sailed inches wide of the upright.
Cavin Johnson's charges saw most of the ball in the opening half and carved out a few more openings, with Ndumiso Mabena and and Gerald Phiri went close.
Highlands had to wait until the 41st minute for their first chance of the game through Collins Mbesuma, who saw his effort cleared off the line by Mathe.
However, neither side could carve out an opening in the closing stages of the first half as the score remained goalless at the halftime break,
After a slow start to the second half, Highlands went close to breaking the deadlock after the hour mark as Peter Shalulile's curling effort sailed inches wide of the upright.
The woodwork came to the visitors' rescue in the 70th minute when Mabena's powerful free-kick crashed against the crossbar.
In the 70th minute Sibusiso Msomi was replaced N'gambi as Cavin Johnson looked for fresh legs up front and bite in the middle of the park.
The change eventually paid off, as N'gambi broke the deadlock by heading home from close range to seal the win for Dikwena.
The victory moves Dikwena eight points clear of the relegation zone with three games remaining.
