Thuso Phala scored the only goal of the game to hand SuperSport United a narrow 1-0 win over Maritzburg United.
Stuart Baxter's charges controlled the possession in the opening stages, with Reneilwe Letsholonyane and Dove Wome pulling the strings in the middle of the park.
Although, Maritzburg should have opened the scoring inside the opening 10 minutes through Evans Rusike, who dragged his effort wide of the upright with only Ronwen Williams to beat.
All the chances were falling to the home side but they were let down by some poor finishing, as Rusike and Abia Nale missed golden chances after 25 minutes.
After long spells of dominating, SuperSport broke the deadlock just before the break, as Reneilwe Letsholonyane's fine pass played in Aubrey Modiba, who teed up Thuso Phala to slot into an empty net, 1-0.
