Siyanda Xulu almost opened the scoring in the sixth minute with a downward header inside the box, but Patrick Tignyemb managed to collect the effort under pressure.

In the 13th minute, Deolin Mekoa went close to putting the Team of Choice in the lead but was unable to find the target from an acute angle after being sent through on goal.

Fadlu Davids' charges were dominating after half-an-hour as they took the initiative to attack, while Siwelele were waiting for their chances on counter-attacks.

However, Pogiso Sanoka made it 1-0 to the home side in the 38th minute with a diving header inside the box following some impressive build up play.

Davids' troops kept their composure in the last seven minutes of the half to preserve their lead as they went into the break leading.

Mohau Mokate had an easy task of tapping into the back of the net two minutes after the break following a good square pass across the face of goal, 2-0.

The Team of Choice started sat deep in their own half after the hour mark,  as Celtic looked to restore parity in the encounter.

With 14 minutes remaining, Andrea Fileccia registered his name on the scoresheet with his first touch with a close range finish just moments after coming for Mokate

Evans Rusike rounded off an impressive night for Maritzburg with a powerful effort from close range to make it 4-0.
