Chiefs enjoyed a decent amount of the possession in the early stages but without Siphiwe Tshabalala, they lacked a bit of creativity in the final third.

Arrows, meanwhile, were quite content to sit back and soak up pressure with the hope catching Chiefs on the break with their pace in the attack.

Steve Komphela's charges eventually carved out their first chance of the half in the 31st minute as Gustavo Paez picked out Bernard Parker, who headed just wide of the upright.

The visitor's also struggled to create chances but they went close in the 40th minute when Nduduzo Sibiya broke into the box but he failed to beat the on-rushing Itumeleng Khune.

Nevertheless, that proved to be the only bit of goal-mouth in the opening 45 minutes action as the sides went into the break all square.

With Chiefs searching for the opening goal, Komphela introduced William Twala for Edmore Chirambadare in the 53rd minute.

Chiefs went close to breaking the 63rd minute as Hendrick Ekstein carved out some space on the edge of the box, before firing inches wide of the upright.

The hosts continued to struggle in the final third, which prompted a double change after 71 minutes as George Lebese and Ryan Moon replaced Ekstein and Bernard Parker.

The substitutions paid off as Moon superbly controlled a long ball in the box and calmly slotted past Nkosingiphile Gumede from close range in the 77th minute.

Arrows pushed for a leveling goal in the closing stages of the second half and they were rewarded in stoppage time when Knox Mutizwa headed home from close range.
