New signing George Lebese - on loan from Mamelodi Sundowns - was only named on the bench, although Mxolisi Macuphu was handed his SuperSport debut.

The game started off slowly, with the first real opening arriving on 19 minutes when Nkosinathi Sibisi was on hand to clear an effort off the line after Nkosingiphile Gumede was beaten.

SuperSport were not to be denied on 26 minutes as Aubrey Modiba did well to pick out Evans Rusike, who made no mistake with a header from close range.

The lead was doubled two minutes later through Macuphu, who sent  a towering header into the far corner following a superb cross from Teboho Mokoena.

After a disappointing first half, Arrows came out fighting in the second and earned themselves a penalty on 56 minutes following a foul Knox Mutizwa, who stepped up to convert from 12-yards out.

The hosts then drew level just after the hour mark with Seth Parusnath sending a fine past Ronwen Williams following some good work by Danny Venter.

SuperSport coach Kaitano Tembo responded with a change with 20 minutes remaining as Lebese made his debut, with Modiba making way.

Arrows continued to push for a winner in the closing stages, while they manage to force Williams into a save after 82 minutes.

With four minutes remaining, SuperSport snatched the winning goal through Mokoena, who found the back of the net with a superb curling effort.
