Result: Golden Arrows 0-1 Mamelodi Sundowns
Date: 19 September 2018
Venue: Princess Magogo Stadium
Absa Premiership champions Mamelodi Sundowns returned to winning ways with a scrappy 1-0 win over Golden Arrows on Wednesday evening
Pitso Mosimane kept faith with Reyaad Pieterse in goals, despite the shot-stopper making a couple mistakes in the 3-3 draw with AmaZulu over the weekend.
The Sundowns defence also came under fire in the last encounter, but even with the inclusion of Madisha for Wayne Arendse, Knox Mutizwa and Lerato Lamola continued to cause problems.
Toni Silva was one of Sundowns' better attackers on the night, and he went close to putting his side ahead after 31 minutes, but his first-time volley sailed into the side-netting.
However, just as it looked as if the sides would go into the break level, Lebohang Maboe popped up in the box to rifle home a left-footed strike to put Sundowns in the lead.
