Ten-Man Maritzburg Hold Arrows To Draw

Maritzburg United came back from a goal down  to draw 1-1 with Golden Arrows in their Absa Premiership tie on Wednesday.
 
 
Arrows had the first chance of the game in the second minute as Ramagalela beat Teyise for pace only to see his shot deflected wide of goal.
 
The Team of Choice then tested Mbaeva in the 10th minute as Zulu beat two men before striking on target. The goalkeeper pulled off a fantastic stop to keep it goalless.
 
Shortly thereafter it was the hosts who was awarded a penalty after Salie brought down Sibiya in the box. Cele took the spot-kick and slotted it past Salie.
 
Mbaeva was in fine form again when Kurt Lentjies headed an effort on target, saving it well after the ball came in from Zulu.
 
The embattled goalkeeper needed to make another top save shortly before the break when a free kick from Deolin Mekoa found Mokate who headed on target.
 
On the stroke of half-time the visitors' job became tougher as Mekoa was shown a red card after tempers flared, resulting in a yellow cards for Lentjies and Cele.
 
United's best chance came in the 56th minute. Lenjies curled in a corner and Onyango was in position to head the ball onto the bar.
 
The visitors continued to push for the equaliser and were rewarded in the 71st minute as the influential Lentjies found the back of the net with a super strike.
 
At the other end of the pitch Arrows almost netted a winner when Ramagalela found himself with a chance to shoot, but Onyango made a clutch block.
