Arrows Net Late Winner To Sink Winless Stars

Lehlohonolo Nonyane struck in stoppage time to earn Golden Arrows a 1-0 win over Free State Stars at Goble Park.
Stars enjoyed the better start and showed their attacking intent from the onset with Danny Venter going close with a long range effort.
The home side continued to push for an opening goal but Arrows goalkeeper, Maximilian Mbaeva produced a couple fine saves to deny Nyiko Mobbie and Nhlanhla Vilakazi after 25 minutes.
Arrows, meanwhile, struggled to get their attacking game going and only registered one effort at goal, which failed to test Stars shot-stopper, Thela Ngobeni.
The score remained goalless as the sides entered the halftime break.
Clinton Larsen opted for a change at the start of the second half, as he introduced Andile Fikizolo for Vuyani Ntanga.
Arrows nearly broke the deadlock after 55 minutes as Lerato Lamola met Wayde Jooste's cross, but his header crashed off the upright.
Stars then went on the attack and introduced Moeketsi Sekola for Arman Ella after 71 minutes as they went in search for a winning goal.
Both sides had chances in the closing stages, with Stars going close through Moeketsi, while Thela Ngobeni denied Arrows' Lehlohonolo Nonyane.
Arrows eventually secured the win in stoppage time, as Nonyane turned home a cross from close range to seal the three points.
