Free State Stars Hold Wits In Dour Draw

Absa Premiership
Teams: FS Stars 0-0 Wits
Date: 26 September 2015
Venue: Goble Park
Bidvest Wits lost their place at the top of the Absa Premiership standings with a goalless draw at Free State Stars on Saturday.
The Clever Boys created the first real chance of the encounter in the third minute when a ball into the box found Ngcepe, but his headed effort went just over the crossbar.
Danny Venter tried to conjure up something from long range in the 14th minute when he tried to beat Moeneeb Josephs, but the shot went wide of the target.
Neither side managed to create much going forward as the scrappy affair plodded on and the two midfields negated each other.
The draw was a disappointing result for Wits who had an opportunity to consolidate their place at the top of the Absa Premiership standings.
It also allowed Platinum Stars a chance to leapfrog Wits and take over as the top side in the league so far this campaign.
Here's how they lined up:
Free State Stars: Diakite, Masehe, Mashego, Shabalala, Sankara, Thlone, Ngasa, Mohomi, Fileccia, Somaeb, Venter
Bidvest Wits: Josephs, Hlatshwayo, Lecki, Mkhwanazi, Nhlapo, Faty, Ngcepe, Shongwe, Bhasera, Lupeta, Ntshangase.
