Free State Stars have moved up to second spot in the Absa Premiership table after defeating Cape Town City 1-0.
The opening exchanges of the first half proved to be a quiet affair, as both sides looked to settle down in the opening 15 minutes.
The first real opening arrived after 26 minutes, as Sinethemba Jantjie forced Sage Stephens into a fine save from close range.
City, meanwhile, edged the possession statistics but found it tough carve out chances in the final third.
However, Stars broke the deadlock on the stroke of half time, courtesy of a close-range finish from Harris Tchilimbou, 1-0.
Benni McCarthy opted for a double change at the half, as Kwanda Mngonyama and Surprise Ralani were introduced.
Five minutes into the second half, City nearly leveled matters when Roland Putche sent a header just wide of the mark.
The Citizens dominated possession in the second half, but had to wait until the 75th minute for their next chance as Lyle Lakay forced Badra Sangare into a good save.
Stephens came to City's rescue with nine minutes remaining, as he produced a fine save to deny Siphelele Mthembu from close range.
Ea Lla Koto managed to see off a late surge from the Mother City outfit, to claim three points which extends their winning run to four matches.
Here's how they lined up:
Stars: 23. Sangare, 5. Masehe, 2. Mobbie, 22. Keita, 21. Phungwayo, 6. Teyise, 4. Makhaula, 27. Tchilimbou, 13. Maphakisa, 11. Jantjie, 21. Mthembu.
