Chippa were showing the early attacking intent and it was the home side who got away the first shot of the match after Zephaniah Mbokoma found space in the Supersport United final third and fired his shot over the bar.

Supersport found some rhythm soon after and Mandla Masango found space and took a shot which was brilliantly saved by Daniel Akpeyi.

Both teams were looking to create chances but found it difficult to penetrate the opposing defences thus scoring opportunities were hard to come by.

It was Chippa who managed to get through on goal as Mbokoma found the back of the net in the 39th minute only to be flagged offside by the assistant referee.

On the stroke of halftime, Masango forced another great save from Akpeyi as the two seemed to be having a great duel between them. That proved to be the final act of a less than entertaining first half as it ended 0 – 0.

The second half started much like the first, with both teams cancelling each other out.

Matsantsantsa were gifted an opportunity to take the lead after Akpeyi’s blunder saw Mnyamane with a golden opportunity but the forward’s chip sailed over the bar.

The breakthrough came after Keagan Richie committed a foul that earned Chippa a penalty and himself his second yellow card. Manzini converted the spot kick to give his side a 1-0 lead after 70 minutes and something to defend for the remaining 20 minutes.

The Chilli boys looked in the mood after their goal and were playing some good football and creating chances. One of those chances fell for Manzini and the forward duly slotted home to double his side’s lead after 85 minutes.

There was no stopping Manzini as he completed his hat-trick in stoppage time with a great finish to earn his side all three points on the night and positive momentum going into the final game of the season.
