Both clubs signaled their intent early on, as they both displayed an attacking brand of football in the opening 15 minutes.

However, Rise and Shine were reduced to 10 men in the 43rd minute when Essau Kanyenda was sent off for a second bookable offence.

Unfortunately for the supporters in attendance at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium, Chances were hard to come by in the opening 45 minutes.

Dan Malesela opted for a change 10 minutes  as Rhulani Manzini made way for Phetolo Sekome as they pushed for an opening goal.

Thabiso Semenya came to Polokwane's rescue after 62 minutes, as he popped up with a timely block to keep out Kristopher Bergman's close range effort.

After a quiet spell, Polokwane made a defensive change in the 81st minute as they looked to happy to leave with a point, as Thabang Klaas replaced Puleng Tlolane.

Nonetheless, neither side could break the deadlock in the closing stages, as they were forced to earn a share of the spoils.

The Chilli Boys have now stretched their winless run to seven games in the top flight.
