Result: Bloemfontein Celtic 1-2 Golden Arrows
Date: 25 September 2016
Venue: Dr. Molemela Stadium
Golden Arrows claimed their third straight win, after defeating Bloemfontein Celtic 2-1 at the Dr. Molemela Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Arrows looked to have suffered a blow after just five minutes when Lerato Lamola was stretchered after a collision with Patrick Tignyemb, but the forward managed to return to the pitch.
The heat at the Dr. Molemela Stadium took its toll on the players, as both sides struggled to carve out clear-cut openings and were restricted to efforts from distance.
Maximilian Mbaeva endured a quiet half, but he came to Arrows' rescue in the final five minutes of the stanza, producing a fine save to keep out Musa Nyatama's long range.
The hosts were dealt an injury blow just before the interval, as Deon Hotto picked up a knock and was replaced by Khethokwakhe Masuku.
Celtic eventually broke the deadlock five minutes after the halftime break, as Alfred Ndengane's effort deflected off Musa Bilankulu and looped over Mbaeva, 1-0.
Arrows leveled matters a few minutes later when Nkanyiso Mngwengwe rose well to head home Wayde Jooste's corner.
Cinton Larsen's charges started dominating and eventually took the lead after 76 minute courtesy of a well-placed finish from Jooste, 2-1.
Celtic pushed numbers forward with the hope of bagging an equaliser, however they failed to carve out a chance in the final stages.
Arrows managed to hold out for their third straight victory, while Celtic are still searching for their first win.
