Celtic Grind Out Win Against Cosmos

Absa Premiership
Result: Celtic 1-0 Cosmos
Date: 24 September 2015
Venue: Free State Stadium
Bloemfontein Celtic climbed up to fourth in the Absa Premiership standings with a workmanlike 1-0 win over Jomo Cosmos on Thursday.
Both sides looked to play possession football in the opening exchanges before the visitors threatened the Celtic goal in the 28th minute when a free kick from Cheslyn Jampies was headed wide of the target.
The deadlock was broken two minutes later but at the other end of the pitch. Geoffrey Massa pounced on Patrick Tignyemb's ball into the area and produced a bullet header that nestled in the back of the net.
Ezenkosi had a great chance to level matters in the 39th minute when they were awarded a penalty following Wandisile Letlabika's handball in the box. However, Tignyemb kept the hosts in front by saving Charlton Mashumba's spot-kick.
Wiseman Maluleke tested Tignyemb yet again after the break with a powerful headed effort on goal, but the Celtic goalkeeper was up to the task, tipping it over.
Lerato Lamola came close to doubling the lead for Phunya Sele Sele in the 53rd minute but his shot rattled the post instead.
Here's how they lined up:
Celtic: Tignyemb, Fransman, Ndengane, Letlabika, Bilankulu, Lamola, Ntanga, Buchanan, Massa, Matuka, Nyatama.
Cosmos: Naicker, Nsabiyumva, Mngomezulu, Sithole, Lingwati, Makobela, Jampies, Mukamba, Maluleke, Monare, Mashumba
