Matsatsantsa were boosted by the return of Sipho Mbule and Grant Kekana while Jamie Webber and Kudakwashe Mahachi earned rare starts.

Bradley Grobler had a glorious chance to give United the lead in the third minute after chip over the defence by Mahachi found him unmarked in the centre of the box but he glanced his header just wide, before the club's top scorer had a close-range effort saved by King Ndlovu minutes later.

After a slow start, Leopards came close to breaking the deadlock in the 21st minute after Mwape Musonda unleashed a low strike from just outside the box but shot-stopper Ronwen Williams brilliantly parried his effort away while Tumelo Khutlang could not capitalise on a rebound.

Grobler found the back of the net for Kaitano Tembo's charges four minutes later with a header at the back post that sailed past Ndlovu but the goal was disallowed for a foul in the build-up, while Mahachi was denied by Ndlovu moments later.

The match lacked intensity early on in the second stanza which propmted Tembo to make a double change in the 65th minute, as Aubrey Modiba and Thamsanqa Gabuza came on for Mahachi and Sipho Mbule as the visitors went in search of the opening goal.

Soon after, Matsatsantsa were awarded a penalty for a challenge by Mumuni Abubakar on Modiba inside the box, but Grobler could not capitalise, as his spot-kick was saved Ndlovu.

The game was still there for the taking for either side in the closing phase and Ghampani Lungu came close to snatching the winner for Matsatsantsa in the last four minutes with a strike clear on goal on the near side but Ndlovu made a great save.

Lungu was not to be denied in the last minute as he slotted home SuperSport's winner from close range after Ndlovu had  saved Gabuza's initial shot to send the side up to third spot, six points behind league leaders Kaizer Chiefs.
