Wits Six Games Unbeaten After Goalless Draw
Result: Wits 0-0 Celtic
Date: 31 October 2015
Venue: Bidvest Stadium
Bidvest Wits stretched their unbeaten run to six games with a goalless draw against Bloemfontein Celtic on Saturday.
Lerato Lamola had an early chance for Celtic when some good play on the wing provided a chance for him to produce a header at goal, but it went wide.
Moeneeb Josephs was tested in the 11th minute. Phunya Sele Sele counter-attacked swiftly, forcing the gloveman to pull off a big save.
Elias Pelembe and Phakamani Mahlambi combined well to create a threatening moment in the Celtic box as the latter drove in a cross but Patrick Tignyemb held on to it.
Josephs was called upon to save Wits again when a goalbound header looked set to open the scoring. The keeper was at full stretch as he kept it out.
Mahlambi was causing all kinds of problems for the visitors with his pace. He also unleashed a powerful shot from range that brushed the top of the Celtic net.
Mahlambi got the ball out wide in the 68th minute and cut inside for a chance to strike, but his low shot went just wide.
In the end neither side could find the decisive strike that would earn them the sought after three points.
