Wasteful SuperSport Drop Points At Baroka

Absa Premiership

Result: Baroka 0-0 SuperSport United

Date: 07 October 2018

Venue: Peter Mokaba Stadium

SuperSport United were made to rue their missed opportunities as they played to a goalless draw against struggling Baroka in the Absa Premiership.

Kaitano Tembo's troops came into the clash looking for a return to winning ways after they drew 1-1 with Polokwane City on Wednesday.

The form guide did not paint a pretty picture for Baroka, who headed into the clash winless in their last seven matches, the last of which was a 1-0 loss to Black Leopards.

It was the visitors who made the early in-roads, although they were let down by their finishing, most notably Aubrey Modiba, who headed wide - unmarked - in the box.

SuperSport continued to push for an opening goal, although Baroka had goalkeeper Elvis Chipezeze to thank for keeping the scores level at the haftime break.

The second half continued in the same fashion as the first, with SuperSport shading the possession statistics, although chances were few and far between.

SuperSport went agonsingly close to breaking the deadlock in the 74th minute when Lunga rattled the upright from close range with Chipezeze well beaten.

Both sides went in search of a winning goal, but neither could carve out another chances as the encounter ended all square.

Here's how they lined up:
