Rodney Ramagalela's 10th Absa Premiership goal of the season cancelled out Robin Ngalande's strike as Baroka FC and Polokwane City drew 1-1 in the Limpopo derby.
Gift Motupa had a chance to give Bakgaga the lead in the sixth minute with a free header inside the box but his effort sailed over the bar.
Four minutes later, Robin Ngalande opened the scoring for the home side with a close-range finish, after goalkeeper George Chigova initially denied Motupa.
Rodney Ramagalela found a reply for Rise and Shine in the 24th minute from the penalty spot, after Baroka were penalised for a handball inside the area, 1-1.
The tempo of the match slowed down in the final 15 minutes of the stanza, following quick starts from both sides. They ultimately went into the break level on 1-1.
Ten minutes into the second stanza, Bakgaga should have got the second goal after Motupa beat his marker to pick out Mpho Kgaswane, who could only fire into the side-netting.
Rise and Shine also had a chance to go ahead immediately after on the counter-attack but goalkeeper Ayanda Dlamini denied Ramagalela his brace at close range.
In the 72nd minute, Letladi Madubanya almost restored Baroka's lead with a free header inside the box, but Chigova produced a great reflex save at full stretch.
McDonald Makhubedu’s men piled the pressure on City with five minutes left on the clock and were unlucky not to have found the second goal, as Bernard Molekwa’s charges were under siege.
Baroka thought they had secured victory in the final moments of the second half but they had a goal correctly flagged offside as the score remained 1-1.
