Baroka Drop Vital Points Against Celtic

Baroka FC missed the chance to pull clear of the relegation zone, after they drew 1-1 with Bloemfontein Celtic at the Peter Mokaba Stadium.

Bakgaga were forceful early on and took the lead in the eighth minute as Mzwanele Mahashe sent a fine header beyond Patrick Tignyemb.

Siwelele started to get more into the game as the momentum swung with them shortly after Bakgaga opened the scoring.

Musa Nyatama almost equalised in the 19th minute for Siwelele but his right footed curling shot missed narrowly wide from the corner of the box.

Lyle Lakay carved out an opening in the 25th minute as sent a well floated cross into the area but Deno Hotto's header went wide.

After the half-hour mark Bakgaga worked themselves back into the match with Letladi Madubanya working tirelessy in midfield.

In the 38th minute Olaleng Shaku had an opportunity to extend the lead for Bakgaga when he was unmarked inside the box but he could not direct his header on target following a corner.

The match went into the break with Bakgaga pressing for the second goal and leading 1-0.

In the 55th minute Dumisani Zuma hit a well struck shot from outside the box that forced Oscarine Masuluke into a fine finger tip save.

Baroka nearly doubled their lead in the 70th minute.Punch Masenamela released Mahashe on a quick counter-attack that nearly caught Siwelele napping but Patrick Tignyemb rushed off his line to deny the striker.

Lehlohonolo Seema took off the striker Ayanda Dlamini and in came Moeketsi Mvula as he hoped for a change of fortunes in the 80th minute.

In the 81st minute Lekay equalised for Siwelele making it 1-1 with a speculative effort from from distance.

Both sides pushed for a winning goal but the score remained level at the full-time whistle, as Baroka remain in 15th spot.
