Baroka & Celtic Share The Spoils In Thrilling Draw
Absa Premiership Report: Baroka v Bloemfontein Celtic 28 April 2018
Result: Baroka 2-2 Bloemfontein Celtic
Date: 28 April 2018
Venue: Old Peter Mokaba Stadium
Baroka FC and Bloemfontein Celtic settled for a share of the spoils after playing to a 2-2 draw in the Absa Premiership at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday.
The Limpopo outfit came into the clash knowing that they were not safe just yet as they sat two points above the relegation/playoff spot.
Celtic, on the other hand, were looking to end a three-match winless run in the league, while hoping to move into the top eight.
Neither side looked threatening in the opening stages, despite the permutations for both sides as there were no chances in the opening 20 minutes of the encounter.
That proved to be the trend for the rest of the half, which prompted Baorka to introduce Lesedi Mapheto for Lebohang Mabotja five minutes before the break.
It was Celtic who broke the deadlock on the hour mark through Victor Letsoalo.
The home side managed to hit back two minutes later thanks to a strike from Abdi Banda.
Banda completed his brace with 10 minutes remaining to put Baroka in the lead, however Celtic ensured they left the stadium with a point after Kabelo Dlamini snatched the equaliser in the 90th minute.
Here's how they line up:
Celtic: Tignyemb, Letsoalo, Rikhotso, Ndengane, Gordinho, Lubisi, Motshegwa, Baloyi, Hotto, Phalane, Nyundu.
Subs: Dambe, Shikweni, Dlamini, Masuku, Mashikinya, Abondo, Maruping.
