Dikwena Move Top With Tuks Victory

Absa Premiership

Result: AmaTuks 0-2 Platinum Stars

Date: 01 November 2015

Venue: Tuks Stadium

Platinum Stars continued their fine form with a comprehensive 2-0 victory over struggling AmaTuks on Sunday.

The visitors had a solid start to the encounter, Bongi Ntuli enjoying some nice touches before testing Arubi who saved comfortably.

A few minutes later it was Ndumiso Mabena who took a harmless shot at goal as Stars continued to dominate the opening exchanges without any real threat at goal.

There seemed to be a number of wayward shots at goal, as both sides pushed forward for the opener but 0-0 is how the teams headed into the half-time break.

The visiting side continued where they had left off after the restart, and were finally rewarded in the 54th minute when Ntuli rocked up to slot the ball into the back of the net, giving Stars a 1-0 advantage.

Stars continued to look threatening, but it was Thabo Mnyamane who almost grabbed the equaliser in the 67th minute when he forced a superb finger tip save from Coundoul in the visitors' goal.

Before AmaTuks could get some momentum going, Masibusane Zongo stepped up to rattle the net as he extended their lead to 2-0 after 73 minutes of play. The sides continued to have a go at each other, creating a couple of half-chances but the score-line remained unchanged with Dikwena snatching maximum points.

Here's how they started:

AmaTuks: Arubi, Ngubane, Jaure, Mwedihanga, Lichaba, Mosadi, Nyathi, Ketjijere, Zwane, Bacela, Mnyamane.

P. Stars: Coundoul, Tshabalala, Gumede, Mere, Gumede, Madubanya, Ng'ambi, Zongo, Mabena, Rodgers, Ntuli.
