Ajax Cape Town came from behind to claim a vital 3-1 win over Platinum Stars at the Cape Town Stadium on Friday evening.

The opening stages of the encounter proved to be a quiet affair as neither side managed to carve out a clear cut chance.

The first real opening of the half arrived after 26 minutes when Vuyo Mere forced Ajax goalkeeper Brandon Petersen into a superb save with an effort from distance.

Ndoro nearly marked his debut with a goal in the 36th minute as the Zimbabwean turned well and unleashed a stinging effort that sailed inches wide of the upright.

Five minutes before halftime, Dikwena broke the deadlock as Zama Rambuwane headed home to mark his debut with a goal, 0-1.

With eight minutes remaining, the Urban Warriors broke the deadlock as Tashreeq Morris found the back of the net with a thumping finish, 2-1.
