Ajax Cape Town came from behind to claim a vital 3-1 win over Platinum Stars at the Cape Town Stadium on Friday evening.
Tendai Ndoro was handed his debut in the Ajax attack alongside felloe new signings Fagrie Lakay and Samuel Julies.
The opening stages of the encounter proved to be a quiet affair as neither side managed to carve out a clear cut chance.
The first real opening of the half arrived after 26 minutes when Vuyo Mere forced Ajax goalkeeper Brandon Petersen into a superb save with an effort from distance.
Ndoro nearly marked his debut with a goal in the 36th minute as the Zimbabwean turned well and unleashed a stinging effort that sailed inches wide of the upright.
Five minutes before halftime, Dikwena broke the deadlock as Zama Rambuwane headed home to mark his debut with a goal, 0-1.
With Ajax trailing, Muhsin Ertugral opted to withdraw Lakay for Ndiviwe Mdabuka at the start of the second half.
The opening stages of the first half failed to provide any goal-mouth action, which prompted Roger De Sa to introduce Letsie Koapeng after 65 minutes.
Ajax eventually leveled matters in the 73rd minute courtesy of a close range finish from Tercious Malepe, 1-1.
With eight minutes remaining, the Urban Warriors broke the deadlock as Tashreeq Morris found the back of the net with a thumping finish, 2-1.
Ndoro managed to seal the win for the Urban Warriors in the 90th minute with a powerful effort from close range, 3-1.
