The home side took the lead in the 11th minute when Mosa Lebusa headed home a pin-point corner-kick from Yagan Sasmon, 1-0.

Pirates almost hit back in the 19th minute when Justin Shonga worked his way into the box from the right and squared for Thembinkosi Lorch, but his 14-yard effort struck the side-netting.

Ajax doubled their lead in the 32nd minute when Tendai Ndoro broke down the right flank and squared for Zakri who poked the ball home from ten-yards out, 2-0.

The Urban Warriros suffered a bit of a set-back in the 43rd minute when goalkeeper Brandon Petersen had to leave the field injured and was replace by Jody February.

Still, Ajax managed to hold onto their two goal lead heading into the half time break.

Ten minutes into the second half Innocent Maela should have pulled a goal back for Pirates when he met a low right-wing cross into the box, but he skied his shot from only a couple of yards out and an empty net at his mercy.

Pirates laid siege on the Ajax goal thereafter and despite having 80 percent of the possession the Buccaneers could not penetrate a stubborn Urban Warrior defence.

Instead, the goal came at the other end of the park, very much against the run of play, when Zakri tucked home a low right-wing cross from 14-yards out to make it 3-0 and seal victory for Ajax.
